中職各隊釋出名單已經確定，中信兄弟左投林英傑是最被球迷感到惋惜的球員，他婉拒中信兄弟幫他所辦的引退儀式，決定未來還想繼續打球，不管是職業跟業餘，他都想再試試看。
林英傑說：「本來想說再投1、2年看看，結果也是很突然就被通知。」
中信兄弟訓練到10月22日，林英傑球季結束後就先休息，他說：「要參加測試會，時間方面覺得有點太趕。」
不過林英傑過去在中職累積162勝，台灣大聯盟19勝，防禦率3.28，生涯成績亮眼，可惜今年他出賽11場，防禦率10.29，並不理想。
對於未來是否要往業餘，他說：「也是希望有球隊，讓我有機會學習。」
